Board Development Committee Releases Election Framework
The SECOORA Board Development Committee, chaired by Dr. Lundie Spence (Director, Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence SouthEast), has released the SECOORA Board of Directors 2008 Election Procedural Framework.
The framework details:
- the final arbiter of the election process,
- the nomination process,
- campaign conduct,
- a timeline of events,
- the election process,
- the run-off process,
- a process to guarantee the correct geographic composition of the Board under the bylaws,
- and a sample ballot.
The election, to be held on May 13, 2008 at the SECOORA Annual Membership Meeting, will select seven SECOORA directors for staggered terms on the 21 member Board.
