R/V Hogarth Departs Port of St Petersburg

Scientists on the R/V W. T. Hogarth look to shore as the vessel departs from the Port of St Petersburg on a seven-day research mission. Launched in 2017, the Hogarth is the Florida Institute of Oceanography's (FIO) state-of-the-art 78-foot vessel, equipped with berths for 10 scientists, wet & dry labs on board, a Satellite Internet Link, Fisheries Eco-Sounders, Dual Head Swath Bathymetry (for bottom-mapping), a multi-panel video wall for live visualization, and a Dynamic Positioning System. The vessel is capable of voyaging throughout the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and parts of the Atlantic.
